Gaming at 1920x1080 HD Resolutions

Postby Apoptosis » Wed Aug 29, 2012 1:03 pm

NVIDIA just showed me this chart made with data from the Steam Hardware Survey that was a bit shocking.

In 2008 the most popular gaming resolution was 1280x1024 with 40% of gamers at that resolution. Here at the end of 2012 we find that 1920x1080 is now nearly 30% of the market and now the number one resolution for gamers. What are you gaming on?

If it supports it 5760 x 1080, if not 1920 x 1080.

19x10 for years now. Don't remember exactly when I jumped to a 1920x1080, but it's been at least 4 years

1920x1080, but only because the market seemed to stop trying to push the rez higher. I'm very happy that hyper resolution, or at least better resolution, displays are around the corner.

I just use which ever happens to be native to the game that I am playing at the time.

I will say that when I do adjust the res it does end up at 1920 x 1080.

Only posting this to troll Dan a bit, he deserves it...

5120 x 1600, get better screens jerk.

I really need one more, 7680x1600 would be useful...

No I have an apt screen.

If I get a bigger one I would have to move the speakers.

Having said that I might look ionto getting a TV. Great picture and great audio.

Don't worry I don't want the server, plus I can only run one of the monitors on my rig, Unless I get a dual GPU card :-k
