GLBenchmark 2.7 now on Google Play and DXBenchmark 2.7 on Windows Phone Store
March 27, 2013
Using console-quality gaming content, GLBenchhmark 2.7 and DXBenchmark 2.7 provide tools for cross-platform 3D graphics benchmarking on all major consumer platforms including Android, iOS and Windows (Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone).

Kishonti Informatics released the community version of GLBenchmark 2.7 on Android (available for download on Google Play) and DXBenchmark 2.7 (available for download on Windows Phone Store). The GLBenchmark 2.7 iOS version and DXBenchmark 2.7 for Windows 8 and Windows RT are currently under evaluation and rolling out in the following days. The new applications let users measure and compare OpenGL (ES) and DirectX/Direct3D performance scores across various devices with Android, iOS and Windows operating systems.

Rendering the same T-Rex HD and Egypt HD scenes, GLBenchmark 2.7 and DXBenchmark 2.7 make the direct comparison of OpenGL (ES) and DirectX/Direct3D implementations possible for the first time ever. Both benchmarks contain high-level 3D animations (T-Rex HD and Egypt HD) and low-level graphics measurements as well.

GLBenchmark 2.7, an upgrade to our previous Open GL (ES) benchmark tool, measures the quality and performance of the underlying OpenGL ES implementation on Android and iOS devices.

Based on the popular benchmark family of GLBenchmark, DXBenchmark 2.7 is the DirectX/Direct3D twin of GLBenchmark 2.7 for Windows devices (Windows 8, Windows Phone and Windows RT).

Major new features for more realistic content:

Parallax mapping –greater realism for certain textures
Particle System – animated and batched particles
Motion blur on moving objects – cinematic visual effect
More realistic shadows with self-shadows

Major new features for faster, optimized rendering:

Z-Prepass rendering – less overdraw
Pseudo instancing – less draw call
