SEATTLE, WA - Puget Systems (http://www.pugetsystems.com), a boutique integrator of custom PC systems for enthusiasts, professionals, consumers and SMB markets, today launched a new version of its powerful Genesis II workstation, designed from the ground up for quiet operation. The Genesis II Quiet Edition features dual Intel Xeon E5 processors, up to 256GB of memory, and a wide array of video card and disk options.

"Puget Systems is legendary for building silent desktops." said Jon Bach, president of Puget Systems. "Now, we are taking that expertise to workstations. This is by far the most powerful quiet PC we've ever built." The all new Genesis II Quiet Edition is the result of iterative testing of dozens of component combinations and configurations, making heavy use of thermal imaging to ensure the workstation is extremely well cooled, and quiet.

The Genesis II is a very capable workstation, with support for dual Intel Xeon E5 processors, up to 256GB of DDR3 ECC memory, up to 8 hard disks, up to 3 optical disks, and with 7 PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots.

In addition to the new quiet configuration, Puget Systems is also dramatically improving the cooling potential of the standard Genesis II configuration. Previously, Genesis II was cooled with closed loop liquid cooling, with a 120mm radiator per CPU. With the new revision, the cooling is more than doubled, with a 2x140mm radiator per CPU. How much cooling does that provide? Puget Systems tested a configuration with dual 135W Xeon processors, 128GB memory, multiple hard drives, and NVIDIA GTX 680 video card. Even at full CPU+GPU load, the processors maxed out at 45C, and the rest of the workstation internals were measured with thermal imaging with extremely cool operation. Not only does the cooling system perform extremely well, but it also makes the configuration quieter, since the fans do not need to spin as quickly when there is that much sheer radiator surface area.

Availability
The new Genesis II workstations are available immediately for configuration on the Puget Systems website, with prices starting at just over $2550. Product is in stock, and customers ordering online will have their new systems built and shipped within 5-7 business days.
