We only have 33 active folders for LR.
What's going on? We need to recruit more people for F@H. We are in a good spot and we could move up in the ranks if we get more people on our team.
Re: We only have 33 active folders for LR.
Middle-end of next week I will have a box back up and folding.

yeah I know... You know what personally bothers me though...
Only five out of the ten folding war CPU winners are still folding... I was hoping giving out ~$2000 of processors would keep people folding for a bit. Sell them and pay for your electric bill or fold with them...

The year before I gave away a video card, motherboard, processor and memory kit to four lucky folders... And two other GPUs to two other folders Each folder got a $478 system for free plus the two that got $140 video cards which was another ~$2300 worth of prizes.

So Out of that group only two are still folding of the 6...
So out of the last two folding contests I gave away ~$4300 worth of hardware to 16 winners... I had over $200 in shipping expenses too, so ~$4500 in prizes. Of the 16 only 7 are still folding and one person won both years... A 44% continued folding rate isn't good considering what the prizes were and how much time went into organizing these contests.

I hope you remember that I returned the CPU that I won.

Re: We only have 33 active folders for LR.
i've been benching like mad recently, my system has prolly booted 30+ times in each of the past 4 days, and i pulled the 240 in the dell(surprisingly it wasnt overheating tho, only 10C higher than in my cases) for the same reason and the SMP client is really getting annoying, everytime i try to install it i do everything down to the letter in the guides but i've not gotten it to work to date
The 260 folding with the 250 at the same time is just too loud with the high-pitch whining so i can't sleep when they're going, i can probably get the 240 going again though in the dell

Re: We only have 33 active folders for LR.
What would be nice is a design contest to make the best LR Folding T-Shirt. I'm pretty sure if the folding team wore them, people would ask about what is folding and LR. It's a win win. I know it costs to produce the T-Shirts but if, lets say, we had a someone like Intel or AMD to help with the cost and have the folding team cough up 20 or so dollars we really could help LR and the folding team get people to fold. Just a thought. This idea anyone can expand on. Please feel free to voice you ideas to help the team and LR.

Re: We only have 33 active folders for LR.
I called it when you started the last contest people who are not active in the forums will be gone once they get the prizes. But if you look at it in that you got mega point for those few weeks it wasnt a complete loss.

Hey I'm on again off again. I actually just ordered some parts to put that quad to use, so it should be up and running in the next couple of weeks. Plus I ordered another vid card.

Still trying to find more folding friends.
Re: We only have 33 active folders for LR.
Question, how much bandwidth does F@H use? I have a Phenom II X6 that I'll be stress testing for a week or two and figured folding would be as good a way as any. The only problem is it's connected via 3G cell service with bandwidth capped at 5GB/mo.

260/250 folding when i can, funny thing just happened with the 240, the dell has a 305W PSU(have run my 250 off that unit before because it actually has a decent 12v rail) but when i put the 240 in, both the 240 and the CPU(vent) fan cranked up(the cpu fan sounded like a 120CFM Delta or something) but the cpu fan was spinning backwards! it actually cleaned out the heatsink tho-pushed air INTO the case, my 240 was all of a sudden covered in dust
