Folding on a Laptop

Post by kenc51 »

I just got a second hand Dell Laptop and was wondering is it worth it folding on it?

Specs:
Dell D610
14.1" screen 1024x768
1.7G PM 2mb 533 bus
Intel ingtergrated GFX (all I need and lower power use)
256 DDR2 400MHz 3-3-3-8 --> changing to 2x 512 533MHz ram (or will ddr 667 work?)
60GB hdd

I know folding will work, but I was wondering if the Dothan's are good/fast folders?

The lappy does all I need and was cheap....
BTW OSX doesn't install on this lappy, but SuSe 10 does ;)

Dunno :oops: I only just got it!
Using 915GM chipset I think....

I might have jumpped the gun a bit......the OSX cd will boot but then hangs on the white OSX screen. I haven't tried the "-x" switch to boot it into safe mode so it might still install..............I'll check out osxproject.org

I'm currently trying Gentoo via their boot CD.......I'll see if this installs first and then try OSX again........
