I guess I should tell you what the problem(s) were!

1. Pretty sure the 2 discs I used the first 2 times to install XP are corrupted in some way!
3rd disc was successful!

2. This being the big one, when I went in to bios to see if AHCI was enabled(it was not)
I read all the side notes when you highlight a category and there was a note that said under SATA enabled(instead of AHCI) use SATA ports 1-4 only! Ports beyond 4 can be enabled through the OS later! That I dont get, but its not a big deal.
Yes, I had the SSD connected to port 5!

After those changes it went fairly smooth!
Activation process sucked when I talked to an agent(for lack of a better word/name)

Yee Haa!
Hooray!
About damn time!

Anybody have 8GB(4x2gb) DDR2 800mhz they would like to donate?

I see you got it working..Awesome. I was going to suggest installing Windows 10 64bit your Windows 7 key should work to install windows 10. Microsoft makes it pretty easy to create a Windows 10 install USB or DVD now- it will even work without getting activated so you can at least test out the system first.

I thought about 10, but the lack of drivers for my old hardware pretty much eliminated that option!
With 8gb memory($45) an older SSD(I had laying around) and Win7, it runs pretty good!
