Vista and TeraStation NAS or server with samba

Post by bubba »

Ok, to get Vista to talk to a Buffalo TeraStation NAS (which runs Samba) you have to tweek the Network Security: LAN Manager Authentican Level.

edit the registry, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\
change "LMCompatibilityLevel" from 3 to 1

After that you will be nice and happy and able to connect.

here is where I found the info
