Norton FTW? WTF?

Post by Sovereign »

For once, Symantec may have a winner on its hands (at least in my opinion). Don't like those UAC prompts but want to keep it on without suppressing Admin Approval Mode completely? The Norton-ized version offers more detail about what is causing the UAC prompt and enables you to suppress future prompts that match the criteria of the current. No word yet on whether malware can hack this and use the "always allow, never prompt" to its advantage.

I'm currently using the middle setting in this program, keeps UAC on but makes it less annoying.

I've seen that, but personally I don't want no prompts for Admins. I just want prompts when something the system hasn't seen before asks for admin privileges (defeats certain malware, rootkits etc).
