Just built a new system and I'm super happy with it... Got a base index score of 5.9 and it really does scream... Anyone else here have a rating of 5.9? If so post it up!

Eh, the best I can say is 5.9 Hard Drive (Raptor), 5.9 Gaming Graphics and Desktop Graphics (7900GTX SLI). Memory and CPU aren't fast enough (Opteron 170 @ Stock and 2GB DDR500)...
Play
Q6600 @ 3.2GHz :: 8GB DDR2-800 :: eVGA 9800GX2 :: 7900GTX (secondary) :: abit IP35 Pro :: 150GB Raptor 10k RPM :: 2x750GB WD Caviar :: 120GB WD :: X-Fi XtremeMusic :: NEC 4551A :: BenQ DVD Combodrive (52x32x52) :: Dual 22" Acer AL2216W :: Thermaltake Armor Black :: Logitech Z5500 5.1

Work
Core 2 Duo @ 2.53GHz :: 4GB DDR3 @ 1067MHz :: 3670 :: Intel PM45 Chipset :: 500GB 5400RPM SATA :: Integrated Audio :: BD-ROM/DVD Burner :: 16" 1920x1080 RGBLED

The following is an honest reaction to the above original post. It may offend some, but is not intended to start a flame war. Just telling it as I see it.

Honestly! Does anyone give a crap about some absolutely gay, rah-rah Microsoft benchmarketing score (that is not a typo)?

Nathan, you usually do very good work here, now quit feeling that you are inadequate and need some sort of ego or e-penis, boost from the likes of Microsoft. Go out there and cover today's unveiling (or whatever it is going to be) of Barcelona in San Francisco.[/i]

HAHA... Hey it was just cool seeing all 5.9's! figured I might as well post it and look you signed up to flame me for it... the master plan worked ;) It's about building an active community and nothing more ;)

Hard to cover something in San Francisco when you aren't there or invited ;)

Actually . . . I can't get my sign-on to work, so I created a new one to post that reply. Must be getting old (51) and senile or something, forgetting password or username.

Shame they did not invite you to SF for the Barcelona thing. Would have been good to see what you thought of it.

Meanwhile, as I go to work on the plenum box for my central A/C system, can you email me so that we can figure out what my original username and email address are? I don't want to be artificially inflating your statistics.

On that note, you don't have to worry about building a community. The quality of your site, reviews and articles will do it/is doing it for you. May take time, but it will happen.

MS should extend it up to 6.9 soon, then you'll be even more ahead of people who aren't currently maxed at 5.9.

I was wondering why a topic about a 5.9 base index score was being made, turns out this was necroposted... Though it seems like anything less than an SSD gets a 5.9 under hard drive. That's what I have as a base, anyway.

Just built my first system and getting a base score of 5.9 on the Windows Experience. The processor is an Intel i5 quad 2.67GHz overclocked to 4GHz. I was going to get the i7 but the bundle deal from Overclockers on the i5 (which included a H50 watercooler) was so good I couldn't refuse it.
I don't normally get too hung up on computer performance figures, I just needed a fast machine to process my photography quickly. My Canon cameras are Canon EOS 1DS MkII 16.7 megapixel and EOS 1DS MkIII 22 megapixel - the files are quite big - the system seems to zip through the work in Photoshop. Not too bad for gaming either..............

The system is:
Intel i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz quad core Overclocked to 4GHz
Gigabyte P55-UD5 motherboard
4GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1GB Graphics Card
Corsair 950 Power Supply
Corsair H50 Watercooler
1.5TB Western Digital Caviar Green Hard Drive
