Windows OEM ???

I used my Vista 64 bit OEM to re-install on my computer after a hardware malfunction. I noticed OEM says you must un-install previous versions on your HDD before you install it. Is that true, is it better to format your HDD blank before you install an OEM version of windows?

You typically should reformat the disc before a new installation.
