I fired up one of the test systems over the weekend and got this error:
Steam.exe (main exception): CMultiFieldBlob(pSerialized): partial field header at end of record
Anyone know of a simple fix?

Nevermind I found the solution I think:
I deleted everything in the folder except steam.exe, steam.icon and the steamapps directory and then reran steam.exe.
It downloaded all new files and was good to go:
It looks like the last video card I reviewed corrupted some stuff as I was overclocking and crashing the systemTo fix this error use the following steps:
Exit Steam
Navigate to your Steam installation directory. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\ by default.)
Delete everything in that directory EXCEPT the following:
steam.exe
steamapps directory (All of Steam's game files are kept here.)
Restart Steam to test the issue
