Programs That Aren't Needed

Post by Neptune24 »

Hi Guys.

I have a few programs on my computer that seem rather useless to me. I was wondering if indeed they are rubbish or do provide some sort of service.

They are as follows:

Browser Config Utility
Easy Tuner
Easy Saver
ESN Sonar
My Free Codec
ON OFF Charge
Auto Green
@BIOS
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)
Mother Board: Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD PhenomII X4 965 Processor, 3.4GHz(Stock)
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 550 Ti Memory: 1024 MB
GPU Driver:
8.17.12.7061
Direct X 11

Most of those apps are bundled with your motherboard.
Easy Tuner
Easy Saver
ESN Sonar
ON OFF Charge
Auto Green
@BIOS

If you don't use them then they are safe to delete. Browser Config Utility sounds like something that should be uninstalled immediately. Same with the My Free Codec software. If you need a codec download and install K-Lite Codec Pack.

Ok so finally got round to doing a full backup and have uninstalled most of the listed programs (and a lot of other ones).

I was just wondering though, the ON OFF Charge, is that what allows me to cherge things via the USB port when the PC is turned off??

It is, but that option should be available in the BIOS too without having to use the software.

I love @BIOS - easy way to check for any updates for the MB bios.
Remember, I am opinionated and nothing I say or do reflects on anyone or anything else but me :finga:

Never found the option in the BIOS.

And I have kept @BIOS for that reason.

Everything else is gone.
