D3DIM700.DLL

Post by Mr. Chan »

What exactly does this do? I need to know what exactly this controls and does. Would I be close if I said I thought it handled something with textures? If so, can you specify for me?

thx

Found this under Google groups
d3dim700.dl_ is the file that is used for DirectX setup it is not meant to
be installed manually. Several installations will have .dl_, .ex_, etc...
files, these files are used for the installation and are often either
compressed, encoded, or both. If you need to obtain a copy of DirectX then
go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/direct ... /drx81.asp and
download the one appropriate for your operating system. Also the current
version of d3dim700.dll is 5.01.2600.0881. If you have Windows XP then you
should go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to obtain updates as there
currently are no DirectX downloads available from the other link as
WindowsXP comes with DirectX 8.1.

As for posting the file, according to the EULA in the DirectX runtime this
is not a re-distrobutible file and as such I do not think it would not be
legal to post it.

My version is 5.01.0001.0902 ;)

I believe this is the same version from DX9B, should be the same in dX9C however I just needed to konw what it handles, all i found so far is a buncha misc things, some of which i believe is handling textures, i was wondering because i tried the new dx in sp2 rc2 and this file is labeled as being 'old' even though its the same~

:) thx

After downloading 35MB DX9C when it was officially released, it zips through in less than a second installing -- because I already have the latest of the files in the build I had installed. The file is still old, apparently this may be just because it has mixed files, offical/unofficial who knows, it works and works good at that.
