AMD Price Cuts, New Processors

Postby Apoptosis » Tue Oct 05, 2004 9:58 am

TechPowerUp and TheInq are both reporting on AMD price cuts are coming in two weeks. TheInq also states that AMD will introduce the Athlon 4000+ and the FX55 processors.

The next price cut is not far away, it will be on October 18th, affected are:

AMD Athlon64 3400+, 3500+ and 3700+
Mobile Athlon64 (Low Power) 2800+, 3000+, 3200+ and 3400+
Mobile Athlon64 (Desktop Replacement) 2800+, 3000+, 3200+, 3400+ and 3700+
Mobile Sempron 2600+ and 2800+

So if you are wanting to upgrade your system it might be worth it to wait a couple weeks if you are building on a tight budget!

Hope this helps you AMD builders!

I'm waiting to see what happens on the retail end of things, as prices are jumping around alot right now.

lots of price gouging, some retailers think its ok to charge lots more than the vaule of the cpu to make some $$ of the eirly adopters. But if the price does come donw i will be thinking long and hard about upgrading.

Cool. I'll have to tell my bro about this. He wanted to upgrade soon, but not at the current costs.
