Need help on my new com specs

Post by winderic »

Hi

Going to build up my first com since been using notebook for years.
Thinking to get AMD 9850BE, M3A78-T and ATI Shapire 4870, 4G Ram, Vista 64bit, 650w PSU....etc
Saw M3A78-T come out a M3A79-T deluxe model, might get that if possible.

Any suggestion for this setup?
Thanks

Edit : M3A78-T got integrated Graphic Card, but Deluxe model dont have, which one is more worth it?

Go for the Corsair HX620 PSU, it's a really really great PSU.

Is there any particular reason you want to use AMD components over Intel? (As Intel currently has the performance lead)

thats not entirely true. for what your doing your probably better off with something along the lines of a p45/35 with a t7200, youd get better gaming performance.

Slight correction - should probably be E7200. The T7200 is a laptop processor. Does cache make a significant difference in games? From what I recall, the E5200 (which is $30 cheaper on Newegg) has half the E7200's cache but the clock speed is almost the same (2.50 GHz vs 2.53 GHz)...

If you're getting a 9850BE, then I'm guessing you're going to overclock.
If so, get the M3A79-T Deluxe. It has the SB750 southbridge vs the SB600 of the M3A78-T, which will offer SIGNIFICANTLY higher overclocks.
Also, forget about the integrated graphic card. You're getting the 4870, and that defeats the purpose of integrated.

You should also get a better PSU, for example the PCP&P 750W if you are going to overclock that rig.

Good luck! :)
