Post by Apoptosis »

Another site that doesn't seem to give a damn about NDA's posted this:
The processor phenom II X4 955 (3.2 GHz) Black edition already appeared in many Internet- stores, its characteristics and announcement period are already available . The only missing information is the official wholesale price of this model.

The processor phenom II X4 955 (3.2 GHz) Black edition will be only a pair of tens dollars more expensive than today's high end AMD processor - the processor phenom II X4 940 (3.0 GHz) Black edition, which now is proposed for $225. Besides the clock frequencies and the cost, the deference between these models will be in the design concept - the new black edition processor will obtain the socket AM3. The most interesting, that the deliveries Of phenom II X4 940 (3.0 GHz) Black edition will continue, also, after the announcement Of phenom II X4 955 (3.2 GHz) Black edition, in this case the supporters of Socket AM2+ will preserve the possibility to use the free multiplier.

The price position of Phenom II X4 940 (3.0 GHz) Black edition will be used by another processor socket AM 3- the promised Phenom II X4 945 (3.0 GHz). It will be also represented on 23 April.

The amateurs of free multiplier on 28 April will get the 65 nm processor athlon X2 7850 (2.8 GHz) Black edition socket AM2+ with 2mb cache in the third level. The expected wholesale price is less than $70, the announcement of this processor will result in reduction in the prices of other models athlons X2.

To the end of this and the following week, some memory producers will release DDR- 3 module specially for socket AM3 platforms. AMD Company will present the utility AMD overDrive 3.0 and the expansions black edition memory profiles (BEMP), which ideologically copy the expansions EPP from NVIDIA and XMP from Intel.

Memory modules with BEMP expansions in AMD 790FX motherboards with the suitable Bios can automatically overclock the memory to the optimum regime. The utility AMD overDrive 3.0 will allow overclockers to tune timing and frequencies under Windows.
