AMD 3500+ SETTING TO DUEL LAYER DDR

Hi im a newbee in here but im seeking a bit of advise i don't know how to set my amd 3500+64 into duel channel ddr mode or whether setting it to duel would have any improved performance??it is running xp 2x ddr 400-3200 1gb-2gb total also would like to now some benchmark settings on overclocking this old boy,bearing in mind that every time i stick my mitts into bios settings for a fiddle i usually end up calling my trusted mate to rescue my pc!!!!!!!
any advise greatfully recieved.

What motherboard are you using? Typically to use dual channel the mem sticks need to be in slots of the same color. I have never seen it different than that, but that's not to say some off the wall board isn't the same color.

hi im using a msi k8t neo 2-f v2.0 (ms 7094) only has two ddr slots 1 purple 1 green!??

That board has a total of four memory slots... Two Green and Two Purple... It does support dual channel memory kits at up to DDR1 400MHz clock speeds.

I popped the ms-7094 model into the search at msi and I got a board with only 2 mem slots.
Main Memory

thanks for reply's im still none the wiser i have 2x1gb ddr 400-3200 both registering, i have recently added one but i did have it registering as duel once with some other ram i borrowed (same spec) do i have to change any settings anywhere!!! bios maybe?
