AMD Turion 64 Mobile Capability Question

Hello, I recently purchase an HP Pavillion with a AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology ML-32 processor, 1.79 GHz and 1gb or RAM. According to the salesman, the processor is "better than Pentium 4" but I am having difficulty running the xcm vbox, a converter that allows you to play Wii on your laptop, and that requires at least a Pentium 3 processor.

Every time I run it, its glitchy. Its like it skips frames (but the speed is fine since that comes from the Wii). Anyways, is this problem something that is due to the processor? And is this processor one that could work in place of Pentium 4?

Oh never mind, just needed to update drivers and install a later directx. But still, is my processor compatible to pentium 4?
