you tried painting with duct tape  [-X masking tape ONLY(unless you have some kind of proffessional stuff), and you should run your fingernail over the edges of the tape and where there are crevaces especially, because spray paint loves to seep through under the tape, but it cant if the tape is applied fully :drinkers:

When it comes to paint there is two options.

1. Cover it up with another graphic of some kind.

2. sand it all down, new primer base coat and do it over. If its metal you might get away with paint thiner.

Either way sucks. Cover up blows as its not what you want, and the sanding just sucks because there is nothing like doing it twice.

I've done it the way Alathald mentioned, as well as a better method I've found, which also uses card stock, or even plastic stencil sheet, but you run it through a Xyron sticker maker, using the temporary adhesive rolls, not the permanent. Size of the stencil is what determines which Xyron unit to use, I have different sizes and I love using them for things like this, as well as other things. They're great products and fairly inexpensive as well.

I also agree that you did a great job with what you had available and it would appear to be under-appreciated. You could likely make a small amount of turnaround off of something like that if you had the opportunity, good job :)

This is an old post but still very useful. I can see many uses for this. Its cheap and simple to do with household items. Awesome.
