Re-Animating an old eMac

Hey all!! Got an idea and need some help. Tell me what ya think with input, ideas, feedback, etc...

The Scenario:
I have an old eMac G4, with a 1GHz PowerPC chip, and well, it's a relic and it's taking up desk space. I can't update it. Apple won't support it (go figure). And oh yeah, another problem: it's an Apple (sorry, don't mean to label-bash :axe: )

My Idea:
Replace the CRT with an LCD. Gut it and give it new life once again. Would like to stick with AMD, as it's what I know, but nothing is a dealbreaker. I'm thinking about Win7 for the OS, but I am curious as to what the hardware list would entail (mobo, CPU, RAM, SSD/HDD's, Vid, PSU, etc.)

Anyone think this is a do-able endeavor? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I did something similar but I used a NES case. For simplicity sake I would go with this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

Its a miniITX motherbard - ATOM processor, ION GPU, wireless and PSU all in one small package. Just add 4GB of RAM - SSD hard drive, and a blu-ray drive. the mother board has a 4-pin connector on it so you can get power to the SSD and blu-ray drive.

Thank you for the input, Smack! I checked the link, and bookmarked the page. This may just be the avenue that I take.
