You can't buy Acrylic at the depot, plexy (polycarbonate) sheets and its to brittle to do full case out off. That and I'm not to sure, but I don't think they have any over 3/16" thick.

If you want to buy sheet acrylic for sides you can get it from here. They have all the parts you would need to build a case.

If you want every thing made from acrylic then you will need thicker acrylic you can get it from http://www.mcmaster.com, but a 1/4" thick 2 foot square peace will set you back at least 50 bucks. Then you will need special drill bits for plastic and fine tooth saw blades.

Unless you REALLY want to build you own, I'd buy pre-made.

They do have clear cases, I'm just not sure if they're acrylic or not.

I personally would hate a clear case because you can see all the dust.

the danger den is a test bench rack, no top or front. If that is the style your going for take a look at the 'Bob Slay" from Mountain Mods

Cool, I stand corrected. I figured since it was a test rack that it wouldn't have sides.

clear cases and UV lights

Post by road »

cyberneticimplant:
I recall reading someone say an acrylic case with UV lights installed makes the dust inside look like a mini-galaxy swirling inside. Guess thats one negative turned into a positive, haha!

On the other hand no amount of effects could help me forget those little planets floating about are mostly dead human skin cells! Then toss in a few of these badboys "jetpacking" around in there:

j/k, enjoy your project with the pops odie2190 and post what project you settle on.

Best way, watter jet, cheapest way scroll/band saw + high grit wet/dry sand paper + time + elbow grease to sand down the cuts after words.
