PSU Calculators

Just wondering how accurate are these things? Im looking at http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
Seems like the peak wattage numbers are a little low. maybe its cause i dont have any other pci cards/only 2 HDDs

Radeon 5850
Phenom II x4 925 or 965BE (not sure yet)

What was the result it gave you? The link you posted only goes to their main page.

I'll post some of my systems to see what you think. Note - Added 10% Capacitor Aging.

Result: 266W - Nice since I have an Antec 350W running the machine.

372 Watts, 2 fans(1 case 1 cpu), 15% capacitor aging. I guess im a little unsure as i see most people recommending at least 650W for a system with a card that needs 2x pci-e power connectors and 850 watts for a dual gpu setup

I tried going more high end, with high speed sata drives, crossfired 5850s, overclocked 965BE @ 3.8 Ghz, lots of fans, 6 USB devices and got 779 Watts. So i guess its just because i dont have many peripherals

The estimates from that site actually have some overhead. My only complaint about them is they lowered the power consumption estimate for hard drives. The new values actually reflect what drives would consume during normal operation but it doesn't take into account initial start-up surge. I wouldn't trust their estimates for storage servers but they're pretty good for normal builds.
