The V6 is quite the cooler. I kinda wished I was one of the beta tester that analyzed this HSF a while back.

How many boards did you test this unit on? I tested it on and ASUS 1156 and Gigabyte AM3. I do agree about the memory issue but I also see it as more of a problem than you do. I mean there is not much high end memory out there that is low profile.

Its been an issue with all the coolers from several manufactures I have tested recently all of them will not work with tall RAM like Ripjaws or Dominators or HyperX T1... The biggest cooler allowance I have seen of late was around 45mm, even that is not enough for any RAM with tall heatsinks. Dominators are ~55mm, HyperX T1 ~61mm tall.

Even the Venomous X wont allow for tall RAM under it depending how its oriented.

Some remove the tall sinks, some just remove parts of the fins that interfere. I used Kingston Value RAM (no RAM sinks) in the test bench, but in my personal system the RAM I use does not have the heatsinks on top of the ramsinks. Even with the short RAM I have to pull a fan off my cooler to pull the RAM stick in the first slot. and the fan clips just clear the top of the RAM.

Like I say in the articles, your going to have to measure to see where the cooler falls and how tall the RAM is. ALL coolers are having this issue. To get performace they are adding fins, they cant go up as they are pushing 6.5" tall as it is. That leaves down.
