Quick questions... I've never done this stuff and I'm curious.
1) What's with the tape (?) on the back of the motherboard by the audio controller?
2) I know where to get dry ice but where do you pick up LN2?

the electrical tape is totally irrelevant to overclocking haha I use it to protect the motherboard because the expansionplates to video cards can scratch the surface of the motherboard there because I generally swap out video cards on a near-daily basis and killed my only good LGA775 board because of that reason. (BOXDX38BT - Bonetrail, slots for 2x crossfire+PhysX card, poor thing :( )

-DICE: fishing/bait shops, grocery stores, and DICE-specific dealers
-LN2: welding supply shops, compressed gas suppliers, and farmers for semen samples

bumpdate

no reinsulated, used 5/8" wide door jam insulation on contact with the pipe, wrapped tightly with electrical tape, then the original foam I got wrapped with some more tight electrical tape

come to the definitive conclusion that fiber board will not work strength-wise. have a bit of 5/8" plywood I will be using hopefully as the final mount.

What about some thick lexan or cast acrylic? The stuff is fairly easy to work with and should hold up to temperatures and moisture better than wood.

I can't stand cutting acrylic. wood is messy, but at least it isn't statically charged

that and 5/8" plywood will do the job, free.

op updated

I could only get the pot down to ~ -50C and even at that I couldn't get the P4 a single MHz higher than when I was at +36C, the board is just too cheap (won't break 1.6v). but nothing died and I got a bit of experience with DICE and learned some things so I think i'm ready to put the 1055T under in a couple weeks, after the 890GPA's RMA which I haven't filed for yet

btw, I was at 4063MHz on air (238x17) and couldnt get anything above that under dice (239x17=fail) the P4 just needed more volts- a lot more volts.

That's such a big chunk of copper I bet it could cool the P4 without any liquid in the pot. I didn't catch it, did you say what the Intel board you were using was?
