Supercooled Rig!

One of my gaming buddies has a supercooled rig that he put together himself 6 months ago.

His Rig =P~
i7 4930k @ 4.0ghz
2 gtx 780 @ stock
3x 2tb hard drives
64gb of curcial ddr3 @ 1066
Alienware Aurora R3 motherboard

After he told me his temps i was amazed.
CPU: Idle @ 18c Load @ 28c
GPU: Idle @ 12c Load @ 38c
I found out that his cooling system has a special gel that you put in freezer overnight then put into the cooling system the next day. you have to fill the reservoir and allow the pump to push all the gel around the system then fill the remaining space in the reservoir and repeat until the cooling system is free of air. once you have done this then the gel remains at 2c and doesn't need replacing for 8-10 years =D> not only is he rig a beast but those temps are unbelievable until he showed me a pic. Pictures of the Rig and Temps will be uploaded as soon as he sends me them :)

Uh, what? Ask him for links to the stuff and post it here if you don't mind.

he can't find the website for this stuff. he's gets his stuff dirt cheap but we are having a look about on the web.
just changed is system specs now that he got a program i gave him working  just waiting on the pictures then will be testing the rig to the max for true temps :)

If you need to freeze the gel to get its temperature down to 2ºC, then it's not going to stay at (or return to) 2ºC when you add the heat from the PC. Especially if you're then only cooling it again with ambient air.

If the gel is chilled when put into the cooling loop, those temperatures are possible, but they're going to get steadily worse the longer the gel has been out of the freezer until they're no better than other normal watercooling setups (and potentially worse depending on the specific heat capacity of the gel compared to normal water).

Unless it is like a phase setup or the 'gel' is really a type of A/C coolant

But its doesn't sound like either of those things

Moral of the story: Pics or it didn't happen
