Fan Upgrade?

So I have a 200mm bitfenix spectre pro on the side of my haf 932 and it pushes 145cfm. As i plan to get another gtx 580 3gb I would need extra airflow and larger area of cover due to how close the second gpu will be to the psu. I have been looking around for 4 120mm fans as a replacement as not only will it cover a larger area (240mm) but also push more air. I found powercool glacier red for £6 each that have 65cfm each (260cfm). I have ordered 4 of them as they have 14dba each over my current 27.5dba. I know that 27.5dba is very quiet but I can hear a slightly annoying whine from the fan when at 900rpm. I also know that 4 120mm fans while pushing more air will be better in the long run for cooling and I will hear the airflow over the fan motor more so then I do my current bitfenix but I can deal with that. in effect I will have 80% more airflow and hopefully cooler operation. I will have twice the intake of air as to the exhaust giving me a higher positive airflow then what I have now. is this a good idea?

ummm...maybe? lol - really hard question as in theory it should work the way you say but until you try it, dunno. I have never done this myself as bigger fans produce less noise per volume of air moving usually.

If you are getting another video card why not splurge on an enclosed water cooling setup for the cards? That would eliminate the problem of fan noise and you would not even have to replace the big boy on the side.

I was thinking this but at the moment I am being money safe. trying to save up for holiday. once I get these fans I will test them out and let you guys know if the purchase was worth it ;)

Sounds interesting. I always wondered why they didnt make a huge water cooler with a 240mm fan or even two of them but I guess the size would be overwhelming for a normal case lol

I am going to guess that noise will be the biggest factor as the heat rises.
