When rubber fan mounts fail...

Post by bubba »

Ok, I have officially given up on rubber band style fan mounts. This is the second set I have had dry-rot on me. Going back to old school metal retainers for my next cooler LOL

No clue how long it was like this, this is my simi-annual cooler dust cleaning. Opened the case to find the rear fan was off the cooler, and leaning on the back of the case.

The bad rubber mount. All 4 bands broke

My redneck engineer skillz to get my fans mounted back. The zip tie fits nice and snug in the fan mount hole

Pure friction holding it in place, can still pull them apart to clean the cooler out.
