The PC has arrived! What a neat package it was. The box was massive and the PC was packaged well, both externally with Styrofoam padding and internally, with some sort of foam in a bag. It had to cross the border over to Canada, so I was somewhat worried of possible damage, but it's in tip-top shape. The cabling is nice and neat (though the side where it mostly all is can be annoying to place the plating back on) and the case is quite shiny, a contrast to my previous case. This shininess really compliments the case art.

Enough of my words, how about some pictures? Unfortunately I'm going to have to post by links instead of embedding them into the post, if you have a better method, I'm always up for suggestions:

So what were you going from to this system? The backplate is interesting, must be an Intel thing. Any plans on overclocking the beast?

Before this system, I had a Q6600, 8800GT 512MB, and 4GB of DDR2 RAM. The CPU is liquid cooled, so I can definitely see myself overclocking it some time later on. I forgot to mention how quiet the system is. My previous system was quite loud and only became louder when I turned on the case fan.

Since you aren't a professional hardware reviewer what is your take on the SSD boot drive? Is it noticeable or is the machine just fast as hell and it's hard to differentiate what is fast?

Well actually I took the SSD out. It was a tough decision, but I already have Windows 7 professional set up and I did not want to fiddle around with partition transferring or anything like that. I'm giving the drive to someone who will get better use out of it. I imagine the loading will be significantly faster, but I'm content with how everything currently loads.

congrats hark.

i suggest you keep the SSD and get used to it. the good thing about SSD is way better than traditional HDrives. If you dont want to setup a new OS, then just keep it for future purposes. or you can ask sum1 who is knowledgeable on computer hardware to set it up for you. and when its done, plug it in to your computer and make your primary :) you will benefit the SSD even if you are not worth of using it.
this is just a suggestion, the decision is yours :D

Depending on your hard drive now they might have their own version of Acronis. With that you could backup your drive to the SSD easily.

Acronis, eh? Would it matter that my Windows 7 partition is bigger than the SSD?

Probably so. With new Acronis builds it seems like you have the ability to select what it backs up. Meaning you might be able to just backup the OS and your working folders (i.e. Documents, Music, Addresses, etc...).
