Floppies won't write

Post by hkancyr »

I have a problem with floppies, they won't write. I can read fine but they won't write. I have tried 3 new floppy drives and none write. My other Vista desktop has the same problem, it's a P4 3.2EE. My laptop with Vista reads and writes floppies OK.
What can the matter be?
Old one- D975XBX2, QX6700, 6Gigs Corsair DDR2, 8X500Gig HDD's, 470 GTX , Koolance EXOS2, 24" BenQ, Win7 Ulti.
New one- Asus Z77 Sabertooth, I7 3770K, EVGA 670 GTX, Crucial M4 256GB SSD, 2TB WD Caviar Black, Corsair H100, Corsair Vengeance 16GB, Corsair 850 PSU, Corsair 500R case, Win 7 64bit Pro

Have you tried several disks instead of drives?

What do you need the floppy's for in this day and age anyways? :P
RAID drivers is all i ever use mine for, and a BIOS update one time.

I have always found floppies to be unreliable, so I am not surprised.

How did we live with these things for 20+ years?

Anyway, sounds like a drivers or floppy disk issue. I cant imagine all 3 drives having the same exact problem.
