super basic question

Post by stopthekilling77 »

i'm putting my pc back together after taking it apart to move stuff around inside the case, and i find this little 4-pin molex to AsLink connector... i'm assuming its for my Raptor, but after these months of not tinkering i'm ashamed to say i cant remember!

1 4-pin molex connector for the raptor drive
1 SATA connector for the drive

i'm guessing the AsLink connector needs to be connected to the PSU or can it be daisychained from another 4-pinner?

eh, just start plugging it in places.

Kidding. I have no help for you, but if everything is working it doesn't seem too crucial.

well the PC is out of commission right now, but i want everything to be plugged back correctly in so that i don't compound the issues already going wrong with it

Isn't Aslink a cable brand? got a pic of the connector you have?

If there is an SATA and Molex power connector port on the drive use only one or the other, NOT both. If you have a SATA power plug on your PSU use it. Then all you need is the SATA cable to the mobo.

Yup, that is an adapter for those who's PSU doesn't have the SATA power plug.
