I know I have asked this before but I cannot remember the answer and I could not find it in my previous posts. Will a Serial ATA 3.0 HDD function on a MOBO that only supports 1.5 ( I know it will be slower IF it works).

they have jumperless raid, but to make a 3.0 hard drive operate at only 1.5 then you need to move a jumper

My jumper was already set when I got the HDD, though it was OEM.

it jumps a connection between two given points(++,--,+-) and the connection tells the board what to do with...whatever it is

i think the start button(the one on your case) should be called a jumper in professional terms, because it connects a + to - on your MB which shoots the signal to here there and everywhere to start your pc up

keep in mind these are rather uneducated opinions
