IBM 90X8528 ESDI 70MB Hard Drive Spinning Up

Post by Apoptosis »

Shane brought over this IBM 90X8528 hard drive today and it still works. Listen to this 0.07 GB Hard Drive spin up when powered on for the first time in years. This 70MB ESDI hard drive is a blast from the past and it sounds killer!

Yeah I got a bunch of old stuff laying around here at work. Got an old IBM 50Z (functional mind you) with the old micro channel stuff in it. Was being used daily up until last fall.

Run across something like that hard drive now and then, thought Nate would get a kick out of it for his little "wall of history" he has.

Nate you should snap a pick of one of the SSD's setting on it. It would give a good feel for just how massive that thing is

Now all you need is to pair it with a 5800 Ultra and a P4 Prescott with the stock cooler and the symphony will be complete.

played this at work today for the fellow tech guys...we got a kick out of it, although we looked at a few computers being used by the store and some customers. Seems like they already have ancient parts such as this still running in them :P
