Fast 4GB+ SD card under $45

Post by skier »

im looking for the fastest SD card i can find, and so far the best candidate i have is this guy:
SanDisk Extreme 4GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SDSDX3-004G-A31
Speed: Up to 30MB/second read/write (200X)
but not a lot of cards have the actual speed even posted, so any help here would be appreciated

my current card is an ADATA 8GB Class 6 turbo which is around 12MB/s write and 19MB/s read while having 4GB on it

the cheaper, or higher capacity the better

hmm im liking the look of the sandisk you posted, cheaper, still 8GB, and users report it being quicker than the patriot, but what about this version:
http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-Extreme-S ... =pd_cp_e_3

users say this one actually gets up to the 30MB/s rated during use with a DSLR and i dont want a card unless it can beat my current class 6(and looking at the numbers it could have been marketed as a class 10) and this is with 3.26GB in use across 436 files:

(aware both your posted have better write, but also have worse read)

went with a Sandisk 8GB Class10 Extreme 30MB/s for $48 w/ free shipping

went with this because its still 8GB(which is plenty, and the 16GB version is $95) and the class10 Extreme is the newer version (Extreme III C6 is older)

so It came in today! 8)

just ran some ATTO and the read is a fair amount under the rated 30MB/s, but the write is better than anything near it

~20MB/s Write ~21MB/s Read, not bad, now for a replacement microdrive for my mp3 player(testing it right now, 2.3MB/s write 5.5MB/s read :vom: )
