well you made it too easy posting in storage. And as of right now the only drive that would create any interest would be the Raptor and is also the only one that would come in a nice little bagie :)

Just so you know the two i have are awsome. Fast as hell and queiter than my 300GB Maxtor DM10.

These things top out at 96mb sustained and drop as low as 64mb sustained which is just awsome IMO.

Just send 8 of those drives my way and I will beat that sustained rate. :snakeman:

133Mhz PCI-X RAIDCore 8-port on my dual Xeon with slot to match the controller. Imagine 8 of those drives on my controller in RAID 0. Here's what I get with my boring 4-disk Seagate 7200.7 drives in RAID 5.

I can get them for a bit under $270 right now, still trying to get a SAS raid card in to test the RAID throughput of these drives

Like this one?

You know it would be very easy to test 4-disk RAID 0 with my setup, my 4-disk array is hot-swappable. I would be willing to test just 4 of those drives for you for at least a year for a "detailed" test. :snakeman:

I wanted the LSI but no one has them and i cant order direct from LSI, last email i got from them said release is being delayed due to a firmware revision.

So were going with the PCIe Adaptec 8port SAS.

I really would like to get this card for my next rig, but have no idea how many legs&arms it'll cost me...

I suppose I can still extract some money from my Compaq SA532 and the two 18GB Cheetah X15 that's on it.
