NVIDIA has dropped a new WHQL-certified driver for GeForce 200-series, 9-series, and 8800-series desktop GPUs. This new driver enables NVIDIA SLI technology on SLI-certified Intel X58-based motherboards, enables NVIDIA SLI Multi-monitor support, giving you the ability to use two monitors with your GeForce graphics cards in SLI mode, and enables NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on a dedicated GeForce graphics card. On top of all that it has performance improvements in games like Grand Theft Auto IV, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, and Left 4 Dead. If you are running a supported graphics card then be sure to update your video card driver this weekend!

This driver has several application compatibility improvements including:

- Grand Theft Auto IV (Single and SLI)
- World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (Single and SLI)
-Improved Left 4 Dead SLI performance

There seems to be about a 50 PPD drop in terms of folding. However, like before, these cores use absoutely no CPU in order to feed the client.

It seems to handle things like MSN with two tabs better as well. Before, I was lagging like hell, and now, it seems to be a bit smoother. I'll update the post with a conclusion on this when I'm talking to people in the morning.

Update: These definitely handle everyday usage better. I have 4 MSN conversations open right now and they're running with just a bit of lag.

Has anybody checked the temps before and after? Folding@Home forum says they see a temp. rise of 5-7 degrees. They do like the fact that it uses less cpu. They say it makes very little difference in folding.
