That's quite the driver release. I am especially interested in the official anti-aliasing override support for Mass Effect 2. I already beat the game, though. The aliasing did not bother me enough for an unofficial solution, but this is definitely nice to have. One question: What exactly are these performance increases in relation to? Like are they xx% increased over the drivers right before this one? Are these increases in general or in specific instances? How do they measure these increases exactly? Anyway, I will try these out later in the week when I have the time under Windows 7.

NVIDIA has made an official update on this:
We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.com. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers. Release 196.75 drivers have been temporarily removed from our website. Thanks, and stay tuned for updates.

Well I think Nvidia also needs to revamp the 196.21 too .... just got a nasty BSOD again from them right after my above post (and yes I checked the system log to make sure it was the gpu drivers) . Man this is a fresh install of 7 Ultimate too , what gives Nvidia ??? Even my brother on a complete seperate i7 rig is having major problems (7 Ultimate / Vista ) with the last set of drivers (on and off for a month or so) , and nothing has helped .

All drivers starting from 190.XX have given my BSODs under Windows XP. I have not tested them thoroughly under Windows 7, but I think it's a heat issue. My 8800GT, which uses the stock single slot cooler, runs very hot so I avoid anything that would increase the temperature.
