Danger Den Releasing All Copper Water Block For GTX 480 GPUs

I just noticed that Danger Den is coming out with a sweet looking all copper water clock for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 graphics card that will keep it nice and cool with the right water cooling loop. Danger Den thinks that the all copper block will be in the $140-150 price range, so it won't be cheap. Danger Den will also have a nickle plated top with copper base version and then a third water block that is all nickle. Each will cost more because of shipping and nickle plating costs. Danger Den should have the all copper version ready by the end of this week, which is well ahead of the public release of the graphics card. If you plan on buying a GeForce GTX 480 and want it to run cool then water cooling is certainly the way to go!

Much nicer looking then the ones from Bitspower and EVGA, EK hasn't released anything (that I have seen) other than the fact they are going to have one mid April some time. Same for Koolance, announced but no images.

What's better for liquid cooling: nickle or copper? Also, why is it better and how much of a difference does it make?

I like nickle platting as it looks better as copper tarnishes and looks like crap a few months after you buy it. If there is a temperature difference i'm not sure.

copper vs nickel plated copper is very little difference in temps.

Overall looks I like the nickel plated top, no tarnishing so looks nicer.

Aesthetics; got it. Good enough reason. Thanks guys.

Oh yeah, if I were going to put a rad/pump/res together for one of these, could either of you help?

Plenty of guys (gals maybe) that have water setups. When it comes to water its best to have a budget before you start. At least $300 for a CPU loop, and it goes up from there.

duno, these are not even available to be bought yet.

With most exposed copper it takes a year or so for the tarnish to show up. Thats the up side to the nickle plated.

The 480's are going to NEED these.... that's for sure! lol

I'm pretty disappointed by the temps the stock coolers give off, but I'm very interested to see these babies in action!

They are seeing 44C at load where I am seeing mid 90's, so water cooling looks great on this card!

That's a great improvement over stock cooling. I could definitely see this sort of thing as a tempting buy for any GTX 480 owners.

Those are some nice temps. I bet a lot of people are going to go this route to get rid of those nasty temps and noise. however, I just hate that if I get the 480, I would feel like the card costs another $100 to $150 on top of the card price since I wouldn't want the card atm without water cooling.
