EVGA Gets 4-way SLI Running on GeForce GTX 480 Video Cards

Post by Apoptosis »

EVGA posted up some pictures yesterday of four EVGA GTX 480 SCs in 4-way SLI running heaven benchmark and I thought it was worth sharing as it's not every day you see $2000 worth of video cards in a single system.

Wonder if that would pull less power then my furnace, with the heat that will put out I doubt I would need a furnace in the winter

I'm still amazed that SLI & Xfire are still around. I was convinced this would never take off.

Would rather get a single card and spend the other $1500 on a nice holiday away somewhere than 4x GTX480's

sli/xfire is good for lower end cards for the bang for the buck factor, the performance scalability has made leaps and bounds in the past few years

Each card has over three billion transistors so altogether that's over twelve billion transistors!

Yikes . Man I dont mind SLi , SLi w/Phsix or even Tri-SLi as Ive see first hand how well the "can" work ; but quad cards is getting abit much imo . More power to ya if ya got the $cash$ I guess , but devopers cant cant even make a good game lately , or even one that would take advantage of all those cards .

It does look cool , but practicality and funds will prevent me from ever going that route (Eh , but I said that way back when , with SLi too at one point :P)
