Quadro 4000 and 2 monitors at 2650x1600 ?

Post by MuggeGHQ »

Hi everyone.

I really need help here.
Just bought a new workstation with a nVidia Quadro 4000 and 2 30" U3011 Dell monitors.
I need both monitors to run at full 2650 x 1600. Is that possible with the Quadro 4000 ?
Please if someone can answer me ASAP because i have to change the graphic card option
before it arrives to me.
Thanks a lot.

From this page: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-qu ... 00-us.html
Maximum Display Resolution Digital @ 60Hz 2560x1600
Active Display Channels 2
From what I can tell you should be able to run 1 or both monitors using the DisplayPort on the video card. I don't know if the monitors have a DisplayPort cable included.

In theory it should work when running off display port.

The reality is going to be more annoying. I run dual 30's (cinema displays) and had issues trying to get them on a single card last I tried. I ended up saving myself the headache and ended up just running dual cards. The thing to remember is that this resolution is a LOT of pixels, and even if it will turn on trying to do anything that requires a decent frame rate will suffer.

A display port cable is cheap enough, try it and see if it works. Just be ready to add a second card if it doesnt work all that well.
