So, I'm wanting to upgrade my GPU with Deus Ex coming out soon and Doom looking so great. I know I want a GTX 1080 but I'm not sure which card to get. Right now I'm using an ASUS Poseidon GTX 780 hybrid cooled GPU. I'd like to keep my GPU water cooled and neither ASUS nor EVGA seems ready to release a water cooled or hybrid version anytime soon.

So do you think I should wait, or buy one of the existing cards on the market and toss on an aftermarket water block? I've never done one of those before but I do run a custom loop so I'm mostly comfortable with putting my own blocks on.

Thoughts?

I would go with an aftermarket cooler. Those are always the best quality and you probably pay less altogether for a separate card and a separate block than a WC cooled version of any graphics card company.

I agree with aftermarket coolers generally being better than factory ones but just be aware of your warranty. Some companies could eliminate your warranty for putting a different cooler on. With the factory installed water coolers, they are all covered under warranty.

I did see that MSI has a version of the GTX 1080 called the Seahawk EK X that comes with an EK waterblock on it from the factory. That's looking promising although I've never personally owned a MSI video card.
