The passmark score for this processor is only 1046, so you are right it isn't a beast by any means. That said it should be able to browse the web and even work in a MAME emulator cabinet or as a low power home server.

This Celeron 847 is still Ivy Bridge based and more powerful than the more costly Intel Atom D2700.
