Peter Alfonso, the author of the Bugless Beast ROM series for the droid announced today that he has succesfully rooted the Samsung Galaxy S, or more specifically the AT&T Captivate. The root also removes a lot of AT&T junk apps and adds wireless tethering to the phone. Alfonso is recognized as one of the top ROM developers in the Android community, in fact I'm posting this right now on my rooted droid running his Bugless Beast v0.4 build of Froyo.
