DIY Ultraportables?
I'm building a notbook for my parents, and upon inspection my father decided the asus z63a is too big and too heavy. I've browsed the forum and searched the web and haven't seen anything much smaller than the 12.1 ASI, and that's still about 4.5 lbs. Is there an ultraportable barebones available or is it best just to buy a complete system? Thanks!

There are not yet many diy ultraportables, the reason is that most use things like direct solder cpus/gpus to save on space and weight. They also use highly propitary motherboards and componants to reduce size and weight. My laptop was about the best i could do in performance and weight while not loosing too much performance.
