anyone any ideas on how to get into a laptop to clean the fans?
specifically a dell precision M90.
ive tried twice now to get right into the heart of it and no luck. I hope no special tools are required. the fans are so clogged with muck that it overheats anytime a play a newish game.

To answer your question you need the service manual.

You could also google it. Just look for dissasembly of your specific model. I guarantee you will find more than one guide with pics or even video on how to do it step by step.

Re: getting inside a laptop
thank you, i had no idea there was such a thing as a service manual!
Re: getting inside a laptop
I gave it a thorough clean, there was 5 years of dust in those fans! how they spun I dont know. maybe I can play team fortress 2 again without my graphics card overheating.
its quite scary taking your laptop apart to such an extent! and it never quite seems to fit back exactly as it did, the powerbutton requires depressing a bit further.
thank you all again.
