Somebody Please Help me!

Post by wildlaser »

I am all the way down to the graphics card on my E1705/9400, and the tiny screws won't come out, I tried last night with bigger one, no luck, then ought a whole phillips head set today, still, they won't budge, too tight, and I am afraid that they are slowly being stripped, why do they use these DAMN SMALL screws that are to tight to remove, what do I do now?????

Maybe a soldering tip, quickly to soften the plastic, then carefully pull away the entire board?

No no, bad idea!

Anyways I still have to send it to Dell, just so they can remove the stripped screw, and then send it back, hopefully they will remove the metal tab if I ask nicely that blocks the dual pipe from going in (or I will remove myself)

I have the same model notebook with a Geforce 7800, not a GTX or anything. I have wished that I could simply upgrade, so I am curious as to what you are trying to do in removing your card?
