newbee boy intro

Post by BGNRS LUCK »

hi everybody! my name is Dana, yeah I am a guy. i just wanted to tell you all a little about my main reasons for joining your group. I’m very new to computers but I have wood shedded myself and learned a TON , sometimes more than I can believe. I had a system built, then promptly started to play with OCing and changing all the hardware ect??? it was definitely the school of hard knocks. So now I feel its time to do more than read the post for info, settings and such. So I want to compare the settings and numbers that everyone else is using. I feel pretty confident about my ability to OC the CPU, GPU and memory and have rebuilt my system 4 times and now built three computers for a hobby and some profit. this stuff is VERY,VERY,VERY addicting [just say NO!!!] lately it’s been benchmarking and scores as I’ve been changing video cards and OCing them then checking the numbers. I do some gaming but am doing more for fun and to see what the reasonable limits of the hardware. [You know they always hold the limits of everything back to sell more models for more money] I will apologize ahead of time for my bad typing and slow response time with occasional misspelled word I really suck at it but its getting better. At times I may also seem painfully ignorant of seeming simple software use, because sometimes I am!! But again its getting a lot better. So that’s a mouthful and my fingers are swollen. I’ll talk to you soon , dana alias, BL..oh yeah almost forgot, My basic setup is a Gigabite EP43-DS3L,Thermaltake 500WT PS, E8400 @3.71 W/Zalman 110mm cooler ,Gskill DDR2-1066 @1099,5,5,5,15, 1.9V, Nvidia 9800GT @711-1728-964, X-fi sound blaster, Segate 7200-320GB 16mb HD, two Sony burners and a multi card reader in a modified apevia case with four 120mm and three 80mm blue tricool fans. my best 3DMark06 score so far is 14528, peace all ,see ya

Welcome to the forums Dana. :)

Sounds like you are doing alright with learning about PC's with the stuff in your current rig and how much you've overclocked it 8)
