I'm near Montreal, Canada and looking to beef up my knowledge before taking the i7 920 or (i7 860) plunge, or win one here. I'm a member of too many tech message boards already, and am starting to weed out the less interesting ones, but I'm a voracious reader and I like what I see here so far.

My current rig is way outdated:

but after you have a good laugh, consider that it's six years old, had almost no upgrades, and still performs decently (O.K. gaming was over a long time ago.) My theory is that after practicing the fundamentals of eye-hand coordination and strategy for years on Ice Breaker and Enemy Territory, with a decent rig I should be up to speed in no time in the latest RTSs and FPSs.

In theory at least.
