Got my new 4870

Post by kappage »

Well it came to the time that my 8600GTS just wasnt cutting it plus it was artifacting. I was looking into a new Nvidia card but noticed this trent
6600Gt dead
Second replacement 6600GT dead
my brothers 8800GTX Dead.
My friends 8800GT Dead.
work mate 9800GT sent back twice,

and since i have not known any problems with ATI i thought it time to tell Nvidia to go stick it!

And so far i am loving this graphics card Company of Heroes everything set to maximum AWESOME!

Just my two cents
Main Rig: C2D 6850 @ 3.0Ghz, 2Gb DDR2667Mhz @ 833Mhz 5-5-5-15 Timings , XFX xXx 8600GTS @ 730/2260 , Gigabyte Ga-945GCM-S2L
JukeBox: Currently in an Upgrade but im too lazy to do it at the moment
I² keepin it real

When was the last time you had one? CCC is a ton better now than it was years ago.

every manuf. has cards die, ati just tends to be for different reasons(can be touchy if you take things apart to clean them(how i killed two ATI cards))

but hey, both my nvidia cards are alive(not so well, but alive) after running for days or weeks above 110C so i can't really complain about my two really old cards that have died in the past(RIP 4ti 4200 and mx 200)

from memory the first 6600 was a legend it had a red PCB the second was something like Sparkle, the 8600 was XFX XXX, the 8800GTX was xfx 8800Gt XFX and the 9800GT was umm gigabyte?

While my New 4870 is a XFX 1gb model and i am very pleased with it so far!! time will tell though [-o<

well you ARE going from midrange to high-end ;)

(nothing in the 8000 or 9000 series i consider high end, except the 9800GX2)
