HD5970 + w3570 + EVGA Classified + Liquid Nitrogen

Postby Gomeler » Tue Dec 22, 2009 7:44 am

Met up with Brian Y. for a day of benching. After playing with a HD5870 on LN2 he went home and I popped in the HD5970 on the stock cooler. I believe this is the 3rd time I've tested this CPU on LN2 and it still has some more in it, especially 3D06.

CPU: w3570
Pot: F1EE @ -95C to -104C
RAM: Corsair Dominator GT 2000C7(we reviewed the 1866C7 modules)
MB: EVGA E761 Classified
PSU: Corsair HX1000
Table: Dimastech Test Table v2(review pending)

The rig.

Had a blast, spent ~2 hours on 3D03, ~2 hours on 3D05, and then ~30 minutes on 3D06 before having my first hard crash requiring the torch. Took forever to learn the quirks of the HD5970, it was acting quite strange through 06. Oh well :plol:
