I currently have ati 4830 and wanted to upgrade but then I wondered if I could upgrade too far and have my prosecor as a botleneck. Just wondering if theirs really a point where buying a more expensive card wont help my frames.
Im running a 1920 by 1200 monitor And I like to play games like Bad company 2, Company of hereos , Bioshock 2 and Resident evil 5 none of those games i can play maxing the graphics out except Bioshock 2

It will help. The point that you wouldn't really notice is at lower resolutions (i.e. 1024x768). If you have the funds and you think it will enhance your gameplay then go for it. You might consider saving a little more money and picking up a HD 6950. As far as I know people have had a 100% success rate flashing their HD 6950 to a HD 6970.

at that resolution I would also opt for the 6950, I have a 460 1GB (slightly worse than 6850, but i have it clocked to similar) and it gets slowed down below 40fps at max settings at 1920x1080 in some games

BFBC2 in particular will see a great improvement with more cores though as it is one of the only current games that really thrives with more cores (6 cores is noticeably better than 4 cores, in my experience), but just about every other game runs great still with a high-clocked dualcore
